Scrapbooks and cake!

Just got back from a scrappinescapes weekend in San Diego, so fun and relaxing...

I just love the LaJolla Marriott, the food is fabulous, I could just go and eat all weekend then float away on the ocean like a little whale....hahahaha....

It is Patti's last time as host, she is busy selling houses in California, so something had to give, but she found new hosts, Lisa and Jennifer, so let fun continue!

Steak Sandwich and Brown Sugar Sweet Potato Fries!
My favorite Riesling by the fire pit, Chateau St. Michelle

Christy having a glass, Cheers!
They had a photo booth and props! I'm a viking! Christy is the queen of the crop!
I made the shirts that Christy and I are wearing, they say "It's all fun and games until you run out of adhesive" which any scrapbooker knows is the worse thing that can happen at a crop!
I will start selling my shirts and other scrapbook goodies in my etsy shop:

When I got home my hubby's birthday was on Tuesday so I baked him his favorite Devils food cake with chocolate frosting, used a stencil cut from my cricut to decorate it:
Keep creating and enjoying the everyday moments......

Busy cooking, cutting, creating!

I am making fun things, staying busy in my craft room, spring is the worst time for me...I have allergies and the wind loves to blow in April and May here in the desert, so I keep busy indoors. Just waiting for the summer sun to shine down on me.....

Big News!

I am going to be a grandma again!

My son and his wife are expecting a sweet baby boy in September! They live in Arizona so it is a little bittersweet as I won't get to be hands on as much as I would love to be, but I will try to be there as much as possible!

So, needless to say, I am busy making lots of fun baby gifts! Crochet, quilting, cricut-ing.

I still need to do my card swaps, but I only have until July (baby shower time) to get my gifts made.

I may post little tidbits here and there of what I making but can't give away too much until after July.

Can you believe it is April already???

Time sure is flying by.

My husband I took a little trip to Laughlin, we had a nice dinner at the golf course there, the place was called Slate. I recommend it for a nice dinner on the patio over looking the golf course.

I was so hungry I forgot to take pics of my food!

Get out and enjoy the world!
Happy Spring!

Vegas Fun!

I was able to get out and see the Bellagio garden display. Tanya drove us out there for my birthday Vegas day, we saw the garden then headed to The Cornish Pasty place for lunch, fun day!
I also went to a cooking class recently, we made a wonderful steak and an arugula and fennel salad with a simple shallot dressing, then we made Bomboli's (Italian doughnuts).

I love living in Las Vegas, where there are many fun things to do and see!

Hope you are enjoying the springtime and getting out and doing something fun, life is made to be lived, get busy!

Birthdays are meant to be Special!

It was my special day yesterday...I turned 53.....

I have always believed that birthdays should be special, I don't care much about all the others days of the year, but a birthday...Well, that's a big day.
It means you made it another 365 days in this world.

Today, that is not an easy feat. Life is tough, hard and down right discouraging sometimes, so getting through it should be celebrated!!

I like to make a big deal on my friends and families birthdays as well. I try to spoil them too, most the time I get met with "no no I'm not celbrating, no no its no big deal....Well, to me it is a big deal and I want to spoil everyone else on their big day, so get with the program people!!!

This year my hubby took a day off work and spent the whole day doing what ever I wanted...We played bingo, we had a wonderful lunch, we shopped at brighton, we went to the movies.

It was such a fun day, I am so glad to have such happy memories and a husband that shares in my belief that birthdays are special and you should be celebrated and spoiled!

Here are some highlights of the day:
53 years and still going strong!

Lunch with my guy!

He had a chopped seafood salad, I had grilled seafood platter,,, dang, that was yummy!!

Bingo playing fools!

When I returned home I had flowers from my son and daughter in law, gorgeous!!!

Thank you to everyone who texted, and emailed to wish me a happy day, I had a wonderful birthday, I can't wait until next year to do it all again!!

Sister weekend!

Whew, we packed in more fun in a weekend then most can....

First off, picked her up at airport, hit the antique mall and the hobby lobby (she does not have one in California close to her) then Mandalay bay, got our room....we were hungry so we went to early dinner at the Irish pub, RI-RA, great food, we got Reuben sandwiches and ceaser salads, so good!!

Then it was off to the House of Blues to see BETH HART concert.....Wow, wow, wow....she was so wonderful to listen too, her voice is amazing!

Got up early, headed to Red Rock Casino for breakfast and bingo, then ran off to our Cooking class out the back door of red rock in the shopping district....Dutch oven cooking at SurLaTable.

Oh my, we made the best chicken thighs with collard greens, we also made beef roast with barley, but I was not fond of that...but that chicken dish was to die for! Making it tonight for charlie!

Got home after class, played in the craft room, then headed to our mexican restaurant for dinner, stuffed ourselves and drank some wine....

Up at dawn to drop her at airport, back to work for us!! Her to her office in LA, and me back to my housewife duties, shopping and laundry and cleaning house.....

Next stop will be in May for more scrapbook fun!
